01Who we are

Origin Design & Build (registration no. 202603191162 (003872159-X)) is a sole proprietorship based in Kuala Lumpur, owned by Damon Cheong. We decide how your personal data is used, and we are responsible for it.

02What we collect

When you use the enquiry form, we collect:

• your name and phone / WhatsApp number
• your email address, if you give it
• the property type, its location or area, and its approximate size
• the job scope, your budget and when you want to start
• whether you have drawings, a floor plan or photos, and how you heard about us
• your consent to this notice

If you message us on WhatsApp or by email, we keep what you send, including photos, floor plans and drawings.

If your project goes ahead, we also collect what we need to quote, contract and build: the site address, access arrangements, and the details on the quotation, variation orders and payments.

This website does not use cookies, analytics or advertising trackers.

03Why we use it

• To reply to your enquiry and send you a preliminary cost estimate.
• To arrange a site visit, if you want one.
• To prepare your design and itemised quotation.
• If you go ahead: to carry out and manage the work, keep you updated, hand over, and deal with defects during the defects liability period.
• To keep the business records the law requires, such as tax and accounting records.

We do not sell or rent your personal data, and we will not add you to a mailing list without asking.

04Do you have to give it?

No. But the required fields on the form are what we need to give you a useful estimate. If you leave them out, we may not be able to respond properly. Everything marked optional is up to you.

05Who we share it with

We share your personal data only where it is needed:

• Subcontractors and suppliers, when they need details — such as the scope, measurements or site address — to price or carry out your work.
• Building management and the local authority, when we submit renovation permits for your project.
• The services we use to run the business: the form service that delivers website enquiries to us (Formspree), our email (Gmail) and WhatsApp. These services may store data on servers outside Malaysia.
• Anyone the law requires us to give it to, such as a government authority with a legal right to ask.

06How long we keep it

• If your enquiry does not go ahead, we delete your details within 12 months of our last contact.
• If it does, we keep your project records for the length of the project and its defects liability period, and after that for as long as the law requires us to keep business records — generally seven years.

07How we protect it

Your personal data is kept only in the accounts and devices we use to run Origin, and is seen only by the people who need it to handle your enquiry or project. We take practical steps to keep it from being lost, misused or disclosed without permission.

08Your rights

You can ask us to:

• tell you what personal data we hold about you, and give you a copy;
• correct anything that is wrong or out of date;
• stop using your data, or withdraw your consent.

If you withdraw consent, we may no longer be able to continue with your enquiry or project, and we may still need to keep some records the law requires.

To make a request, email buildbyorigin@gmail.com with the subject "Personal data request". We may ask you to confirm who you are before we act on it.

09Changes to this notice

If we change how we handle personal data, we will update this page and the date at the top.
